Is This Safe?

Straight answers about who publishes Works File Converter, how the Windows installer works, and what stays on your PC. Conversion is local — your Microsoft Works files are not uploaded.

Publisher

Works File Converter (also called Works Converter / Microsoft Works File Converter) is published by Green 18 Enterprises, Arizona, established 1991.

We do not list a street address or phone number on this page. Email support is the contact channel.

Installer (MSI)

The offline Windows installer is an MSI named WorksConverter-6.1.0.msi. Download it from this site (homepage download / /api/download). The free website trial includes 10 conversions.

A Microsoft Store listing is coming soon / in review. We do not publish a Store product ID until a live listing exists. Use the MSI from this site until the Store option appears on the homepage.

This page does not claim that the MSI is Authenticode / code-signed. See "Verify the publisher" below for what to check in Windows.

Verify the publisher

After you download the installer, open the MSI properties in Windows (right-click → Properties) and review any publisher / digital signature details Windows displays.

If Windows shows a publisher name, look for Green 18 Enterprises. If the name does not match, do not install — contact support@worksconverter.com and tell us what you see.

Windows SmartScreen: More info → Run anyway

New or less-common desktop installers often trigger Microsoft SmartScreen. That warning means Windows has not built reputation for the file yet — it is not by itself proof the file is malicious.

  1. When SmartScreen appears, choose More info.
  2. Confirm the app / publisher details match what you expect for Green 18 Enterprises / Works File Converter.
  3. If they match and you downloaded from worksconverter.com, choose Run anyway to continue install.

Prefer downloading only from this website (or the Microsoft Store once the listing is live), not from third-party mirrors.

Checksums & VirusTotal

Published SHA-256 hashes and VirusTotal links for the MSI are coming soon. We will not invent hashes or scan URLs on this page. Until then, download from this site and verify the publisher name Windows shows, as described above.

System requirements

From the live PAD.xml:

Supported OS per PAD: Windows 10, Windows 11. The app does not run on macOS, Linux, iOS, or Android.

Conversion runs entirely on your PC. Files are not uploaded to worksconverter.com for conversion.
